About me

I'm a Software Engineer based in Mexico City, focused on Full-stack work in fintech. Most recently I worked at T1Pagos, where I spent a year building automation processing roughly 5M+ monthly transactions: payment reconciliation pipelines, fraud-prevention POCs, and the operational tooling around them. Currently working as an independent contractor while preparing for the next opportunity.

The repo you're most likely here for: alejandro-portfolio-website - production portfolio live at alejandropiedra.com, built in Next.js + TypeScript featuring a compound interest calculator. An active branch extends it with a Node.js + Express + MongoDB e-commerce backend I'm using to showcase Spec Driven Development and Payment-flow Engineering.

Before Software, I spent close to a decade working in professional Audio Engineering, managing recording projects for triple-A Video Games, Dubbing and Music Production. Same signal-flow instincts, different medium. The career switch was intentional, of course. Software Engineering rewards rigor at a level the music industry didn't.

My interests outside work include (but are not limited to): sport cars and motorbikes, mountains, skydiving, calisthenics, and yoga. I also like to build stuff with my hands when I'm not at a keyboard, and play COD Mobile!
