Version: 1.2.7

The attached test.pdf PDF file contains a transparent image. When printed using lp the resulting paper has a black rectangle on it.

I've tried with:
a) native gutenprint
b) gutenprint-ijs foomatic driver
c) hpijs foomatic driver
d) "EPSON Stylus Color Series CUPS v1.2" driver provided
with CUPS

I'm using CUPS-1.2.7 and ESP GhostScript 8.15.3.

This is a known issue in the Xpdf code that is supposed to be addressed in the next release of that software. I have no idea when that release will happen, or if the issue will go away if we switch to poppler in pdftops...

Xpdf 3.02 has been released which fixes this bug. The most recent version of popplar still has it in its PDF to PS filter.

I would be very grateful if the pdftops filter in CUPS could be updated to the latest Xpdf version.

Update: apparently the SVN version of popplar has merged the Xpdf 3.02 changes, which presumably also means than its next release will have the bug fixed.

However, we need the extra handling of things like landscape which is only in CUPS' pdftops filter.

We'll pick up a fix for this issue when we switch to using poppler...
