When I plug my printer into computer by USB, the device special file (/dev/usb/lp0) appear. So I can connect with my printer by reading or writing the device special file.
But when I run lpinfo with option "-l - v " several times, the device special file disappears.
I re-plug the printer, and run cups usb backend like below many times. The device special file also disappers.
$./usb/lib/cups/backend/usb
Then I test above phenomenon on CentOS7.4 (CUPS version is 1.6.3), the device special file is always existent. Does the cupsv2.2.10 usb backend has some issue?
