A Telegram Bot supported by NLP Engine to find disease from symptoms, search for possible self care, medications, disease details and specialization. Also shows the list of nearby doctors who can help in this regard. APIMEDIC APIs are used for finding disease details from symptoms and Google Search has been used for finding possible medical care that can be given to patient.

Install all dependencies

pip install -r requirements.txt

How to Run

  • Creata a telegram bot wrapper usingTelegram Bot Builder (GodFather Bot of Telegram) and obtain the bot Token.
  • Put Token in
  • Run Bot Server by following command,
  • Communicate to Chat Bot using Telegram Chat Bot.


This API uses APIMEDIC Api for medical queries. To access APIMEDIC api Sign Up on, and set following environment variables with credentials available at

export username=<your_user_name>
export password=<your_api_key_password>

Start the server

Start the API server using



  • / - Default Page
  • /symptoms - List of all available symptoms
  • /disease/<symptom_id>/<gender>/<year> - Most probable disease based on given symptoms. Concatenate multiple Symptoms using +.

NLP Engine

NLP Engine is hosted on Heroku and use node-nlp library for Natural Language Processing. It takes statement from user and returns possible symptoms over a REST API.

For Installation:

cd NLP
npm install
heroku create
git push heroku master

Running at Localhost go to localhost:5000/text=


Chat Bot

Chat Bot is designed using Telegram Bot Wrapper. It get data from Flask server and communicate with user accordingly. Currently supports 4 languages namely, English, Hindi, Marathi, Bangla but can be extended to all 24 Indian languages supported by Google Translate API.

Frontend Prototype

Created using Codeigniter, a UI prototype for a native app for the Bot.
