aragonOS-compatible encrypted datastore

Abstract

Aragon DAOs should be able to have datastores that can be shared with third party members and can also have granular read/write permissions for each member.
This would basically be a DAO-controlled filesystem by using the aragonOS ACL.

Deliverables

  1. A way to encrypt IPFS data with secrets stored using Keep
  2. An architecture to build a shared datastore
  3. A set of aragonOS-compatible smart contracts to share read/write access to each file inside the datastore with each participating member in the datastore

Grant size

Funding: from $50k up to $100k in ETH, split into chunks paid out over achieved deliverables.

Success reward: Up to $50k in ANT, given out when all deliverables are ready.

Application requirements

  • Proof of concept of the architecture. Alternatively, a whitepaper researching the implementation of the whole protocol
  • Details of the team members, alongside with their willingness in terms of implication
  • Estimated average burn rate for completing the deliverables
  • Legal structure to be adopted, if any

Development timeline

3 to 4 quarters.

This would solve one of the problems that we will address in our future healthcare project over Aragon. We (@fcolavecchia and I) are analyzing this feature in our WP (hopefully will be ready soon)...

As @renexdev said, we are very interested in this proposal.

Quite interested to see where this goes. I have been toying around with the idea of a decentralized docker hub recently. Seems like this could be a viable way to implement such a thing.

@luisivan @izqui Are you guys looking for something like this by any chance? I've also been looking into blockchain based datastores that are still cheap. It's still just a proof of concept but I could modify it to fulfill the features you need. Has #34 already solved the problem or are you still reviewing applications for this issue?

@ghiliweld: kind of. we are still reviewing applications for this issue so feel free to modify your PoC according to the features we need. Keep in mind that we are open to different approaches.

As this proposal hasn't received any love in the past 6 months I will close it. Moreover it looks like our dear @macor161 has been filling it with Espresso.
