LinkGate consists of 3 components licensed under the GNU General Public License (GPL) v3:

link-serv keeps graph data in a scalable data store and provides an API for updating and retrieving data, link-indexer collects data from a web archive and feeds it to link-serv, while link-viz renders data from link-serv in a web browser for navigation and exploration.

LinkGate is an International Internet Preservation Consortium (IIPC) project for the year 2020. In this first phase, the goal is to develop core functionality as well as to compile an inventory of research use cases for future development. Development is by Bibliotheca Alexandrina (BA), while researcher outreach for the gathering of use cases is by the National Library of New Zealand (NLNZ).
