  • Support for xfs has been dropped due to bugs (grub fails to install)
  • Encryption does not work with ABIF (CLI installer) due to plymouth update (no plymouth-encrypt hook in new versions)

Info : Now, package update for WMs will not replace your modified configs (previously, backing-up your configs in ~/.config). Instead, It'll install new updates in separate directory (eg: ~/.config/openbox_pacnew_2023-10-12), It'll be your choice to use your current config or updated one. You can use meld to merge updates in your current modified configs.

Update (1st May):

  • Fixed pacman-init issue in last ISO.
  • Fixed Auto-login issue.
  • Added ability to choose Desktop/WM in calamares installer. Update (17th April): New ISO Uploaded with better Nvidia Support.

  • Fixed polybar sound/volume modules not updating issue
  • Replaced picom-ibhagwan-git with official picom, But...
    • There are config files added for few forks of picom.
    • You can install picom-jonaburg-git from AUR, config file is already added in Archcraft.
    • You can install picom-ibhagwan-git from AUR, config file is already added in Archcraft.
    • Whichever picom fork you use, make sure you use the config file added for that, Just rename it to picom.conf
    • For ex: If using picom-jonaburg-git, copy picom-jonaburg.conf to picom.conf
    • You can see which compositor is currently in use in openbox (Preferences > Compositor)
  • Fixed Minor bugs, etc

  • Better File manager functionality (Mounting, Networking, Archiving, etc)
  • Better multi-monitor support
  • CJK fonts pre-installed
  • New themes for both openbox and bspwm
  • Creating user themes are super easy now
  • So many minor changes, etc.

You need to re-install Archcraft for this update. After that, you can update to next release with pacman

  • Removed a bunch of useless packages (pamac, pcmanfm, leafpad, bmon, bashtop, neovim and a lot more)
  • Updated all packages and window managers
  • Few minor changes in Openbox
    • Updated style scripts (fixed dunst, added option for auto effects)
    • Removed quick CMDs
    • Removed extra polybars, rofi menus (launchers and powermenu)
    • Removed pipemenus for launcher, powermenu, polybar, wallpaper generator
  • Few minor changes in BSPWM
    • Using Thunar as default file manager
    • Changed terminal fonts
  • Removed network applets from all window managers
  • Fixed network menu height and password visibility in all WMs
  • Fixed messed up dunst layout in all WMs

Bug Fix Release for v21.09

  • Fixed drivers getting removed via installer bug (backlight, external monitor issues)
  • Removed support for flatpak as it caused issue with thunar and plank (and other gtk applications)
  • Removed support for snaps (Arch community really hated it)
  • Replaced lightdm with sddm, as webkit2-greeter was causing issues on older machines
  • Improved openbox, bspwm, polybar and other stuff
  • And... I learned that I don't need to have to add everything people suggest
