This example can't be run from a local file system. Thus, host the files in a simple web server (lighttpd is recommended) and launch the browser pointing to the web server. The reason is to satisfy the same origin policy. See section 4.8.11.13 about "Security with canvas elements" in the WHATWG HTML Living Standard.
