Which version of PhantomJS are you using? Tip: run 'phantomjs --version'.


What steps will reproduce the problem?

phantomjs> var page = new WebPage();
phantomjs> page.content;

What is the expected output? What do you see instead?

I'd expect to see the actual page source, instead I only get the following:


Which operating system are you using?

Arch Linux with latest kernel, but the above snippet doesn't work on MacOS X either.

Did you use binary PhantomJS or did you compile it from source?


Please provide any additional information below.

My application firewall on MacOS X actually reported an outbound request to, which indicates that the actual connection to the remote site works.

This issue was migrated on 2013-03-15 from the project's former issue tracker on Google Code, Issue #518.

I have the same issue. Also even if you provide a callback it doesn't get called.

I've also seen this. I'm on 1.8.1 use the 32 bit pre-compiled binaries on Ubuntu 12.10.

I can replicate this on Linux on v1.8.1

Same thing. OSX Lion, v1.8.1, installed with homebrew.

Same for me on OSX Lion 10.8.2, phantomjs v1.8.1


Same on Windows 8, phantomjs v1.8.1


Same on Windows 7, phantomjs built from source
