Have you tried the same using PhantomJS 1.9.2? We've fixed many crash scenarios since 1.8.1.
Yup, I realized that as soon as after I migrated over to the latest latest version of PhantomJS myself. Hence that bug report was somewhat outdated. But thanks for the prompt response. :)
