 there is no triangle symbol you can use /_\ or simply tri Delta is a bit different

 Which unicode character do you have in mind? There are a number of triangle options http://www.fileformat.info/info/unicode/block/geometric_shapes/list.htm

 The one that mathjax gives when \triangle in latex.

 The one that mathjax gives when \triangle in latex. That would be △ U+25B3 WHITE UP-POINTING TRIANGLE. Also is there amath in mathjax No. You might want to file a separate issue/feature requst on the MathJax issue tracker to see if someone is interested in contributing one.

 Also is there amath in MathJax? No, MathJax does not implement the auto-math recognition. You must mark the math explicitly using back-ticks (or whatever delimiters you specify in your configuration file).

 Note also that you can add a symbols to AsciiMath yourself. E.g., put   before the script tag that loads MathJax.js itself.
