Description

Unconfirmed texts inpute by CJK IME collapse to one caracter.
Same issues were reported by Microsoft/vscode#24557, Microsoft/monaco-editor#320
This kind of issue might come from specific versions of electron/electron or older versions of chrome.
You can view GIFs describing the following example at the above known issues (Microsoft/vscode#24557, Microsoft/monaco-editor#320).

Steps to Reproduce

Type some CJK texts like あいう (keystrokes a -> i -> u produce this; this example is Japanese) without pressing ENTER key.

Expected behavior: [What you expect to happen]

Show あいう with underline (as usual for Japanese input).

Actual behavior: [What actually happens]

Show last character only, in this case う.

Please refer GIFs on Microsoft/vscode#24557 and Microsoft/monaco-editor#320.

Reproduces how often: [What percentage of the time does it reproduce?]

Unfortunately it occurs always.

Thanks for taking the time to contribute!

We noticed that this is a duplicate of #14911. You may want to subscribe there for updates. For the time being, you can downgrade to Atom 1.18.0 and disable updates.

Because we treat our issues list as the Atom team's backlog, we close duplicates to focus our work and not have to touch the same chunk of code for the same reason multiple times. This is also why we may mark something as duplicate that isn't an exact duplicate but is closely related.

For information on how to use GitHub's search feature to find out if something is a duplicate before filing, see the How Can I Contribute? section of the Atom CONTRIBUTING guide.
