| A Rail Interface System (RIS) is a form of the Modular Weapon System (MWS) made famous by Knights Armament. The MWS represents ten years of research and development. The MWS adds flexibility and adaptability to a proven rifle design. the MWS has just been adopted by the U.S. Army and type classified. The system was adopted and has been in service for three years with the Special Forces. The ability to customize each individual soldiers rifle for his specific mission and to integrate new targeting electronics, make this system a high priority for the U.S. Military. It allows the quick attachment of numerous accessories such as: reflex sights, lasers, sling swivels, bipod, flashlights, and vertical pistol grip. | |

| <B>MFI's Rail Interface System</B> | |

| Pictured in this review are photos taken from my MP5 "Ultra Navy" which utilizes the custom Lower Rail System from <a href="http://www.mfiap.com/airsoft/main_air.htm">MFI</a>. The Lower Rail System that MFI manufactures is constructed from 7075 T-6 Aircraft Aluminum in the USA. This custom rail system is designed to mimic the Knights Armament Rail system without violating their intellectual property rights and still be able to utilize all the Knight's Armament and other manufacture accessories made for rails like this. This system works not only for the M16 and MP5 variants but, can be easily adapted to a variety of real and Airsoft guns. Case and point is my adaptation of the system to be used on my MP5 Navy with the 'fishbelly' foregrip with built-in light attachment. I chose this over the traditional MP5 foregrip configuration for aesthetic purposes as well as the ability to keep a laser in the foregrip hole and attach the Beam Light on the side. You may buy rails separately and mount them yourself or MFI offers hand guards that are pre-mounted to eliminate all the guess work. | |

| MFI has gone to great lengths to manufacture this rail system in such a way that you do not need to buy a special battery nor do you need to mount a battery externally. The MFI Rail System allows use of original Marui batteries in their originally designed interior locations. | |

| Additionally MFI has made this rail easy to install. The Long Rail is installed by drilling 2 holes into your foregrip and countersinking them for a flush appearance. I had to cut a part of the Long Rail off to fit the length at the bottom of the MP5 Navy's foregrip. The Short Rail was even easier to install. All I had to do was attach it with 2 provided screws, although I do recommend drilling 2 starter holes before screwing it on. I utilize the Long Rail on the bottom of the MP5 Navy foregrip for the Knight's Armament hand grip and installed the Short Rail to be used for the <b>TACM III Super Bright Flashlight.</b> | |
| <p>The TACM III is the latest and greatest of the Military / Law Enforcement Flashlights. This flashlight puts out 10,000 candle power. This makes the TACM III 5 times brighter then a MiniMag Lite or Marui flashlight. It is also substantially brighter than the Surefire flashlights which are also larger. End cap is constructed of aircraft grade aluminum and body is made of Delrin (a spaceage metal much more durable than aluminum). At only 4.3 inches in length and a weight of less than 3 ounces makes this one of the smallest flashlites available. | |

| Using the MFI gives you an incredible tactical advantage, especially in CQB. With the Knights Armament hand grip attached the gun feels very comfortable to hold. The vertical position of the forward firing hand has proven to be more comfortable for longer periods of time than the traditional horizontal placement. This arrangement also aids in bringing the gun up to eye level quickly and more efficiently for fast target acquisition. | |

| The TACM III Flashlight is <b>INCREDIBLY BRIGHT!</b> The following picture does not due justice to the power of this flashlight. You must use care not to shine the light for too long on an player as it does exactly what it is designed to do; temporarily blind and confuse the opponent! With that being said, the light is an incredible advantage in low light environments as it increases the level of illumination close to that of a bright Halogen light 10 times it's size. Yes, it is that bright and is a joy to use for night-time CQB. | |
