<p><small><font face="Arial">The Federal Open Market Committee (FOMC) adopted a tightening
bias towards interest rates today. Although many analysts expected the move, the worlds
markets moved sideways or down in reaction to the news.</font></small></p>
<p><small><font face="Arial">So what are the implications for the everyday TriadHost
citizen? Not many, really, the Fed had a tightening bias last year as well. You can expect
small moves in the lending rate, which may affect some homebuyers. This correspondent
feels you won&#146;t see money this cheap again in the near (or far) future. That by no
means indicates recessive pressure on the economy; only a small throttling back by Mr.
Greenspan and his team.</font></small></p>
<p><small><font face="Arial">So what pushed the Fed.&#146;s button? A couple of key
indicators should be noted. First on the inflationary monitor is a hike in crude oil
prices. You may have noticed the cost of dinosaur fuel has risen at your pumps recently.
The second is a drop in the unemployment rate, which adds wage inflation pressure &#150;
which isn&#146;t a problem around my office! There is a third indicator not mentioned by
many analysts.</font></small></p>
<p><small><font face="Arial">Let me draw your attention to my debut article on the gold
shenanigans being played out behind the closed doors of the worlds largest banking
concerns. As you might recall the article spelled out allegations of price fixing in the
gold markets by some of the worlds most powerful banks. To whit, the Bank of England
announced a few days ago that it would sell 60 percent of it&#146;s gold reserves! Why you
might ask? Gold has historically been used as a prime indicator of inflationary pressure.
The global governments and economist have been touting for well over a year that inflation
is dead, because gold has not moved in so long &#150; hardly a wiggle in price! With
&quot;gold&quot; the last hold out under control, the world can go on breathing easily and
the economy can barrel along merrily. </font></small></p>
<p><small><font face="Arial">To countries like England, who are just now starting to
recover from a decade of recession, any indication of inflation; could derail the only
chance for their nation&#146;s recovery. So they will do nearly anything to keep gold
prices down &#150; even auctioning off they&#146;re own gold reserves. Sounds good to me,
except some economist believe you can only fool the system so long before you have to deal
with reality. One thing for sure, if the U.S. government announced tomorrow, that it was
emptying Fort Knox of 60 percent of it&#146;s gold deposits; wouldn&#146;t you, or at
least your neighbor, be wondering why?&#133;</font></small></p>

<p><small><font face="Arial">A quick follow up to the sleepy investors on this remote
subject. </font></small></p>
<p><small><font face="Arial">Gold is under scrutiny from the Gold Antitrust Action
committee (GATA). They have retained the famous investment law firm Berger &amp; Montaque
to head up the investigation. </font></small></p>
<p><small><font face="Arial">Apparently the allegation is that the large Wall Street
hedgefund group Long Term Capital Management, has been manipulating the Gold market on a
global basis. This has caused the price of gold to stay below $ 300 Oz. for many years. In
order to keep a bad mistake from rocking the worlds markets. The Fed and central banks
have been teaming up to keep the price stable to control gold from moving up in price.
Alan Greenspan and other high Treasury officials may be involved -- but are refusing to
comment. </font></small></p>
