rocks U. S. humanitarian forces</a></big>&nbsp; </strong>PUERTO BARRIOS, Guatemala -- An
earthquake hit at 8:44 a.m. Sunday morning, July 11, in Puerto Barrios, Guatemala, located
on the northern end of that country, shaking U.S. military reserve component troops
deployed in support of continuing humanitarian relief efforts there.&nbsp; (posted 30

--&nbsp;Army Reserve soldiers from the 79th Military Police Company from Rochester, Minn.
receive training and classes at Fort McCoy as they prepare to depart for Europe to support
the NATO peacekeeping mission in Kosovo. Military police and finance units will be filling
active Army positions left vacant in Germany by units that are deploying directly to

Horizons' helping rebuild Central America </a></strong></big>SOTO CANO AIR BASE, Honduras
(Army News Service, July 16, 1999) - Almost 12,000 soldiers will have trained in Central
America by August as part of &quot;Nuevos Horizontes.&quot; The majority of participants
in &quot;New Horizons&quot; (as the exercise is called in English) are National Guard and
Army Reserve troops deployed for two- or three-week rotations. They are providing
humanitarian assistance and completing engineering projects in Honduras, Guatemala, El
Salvador and Nicaragua -- four nations hit hard last fall by Hurricanes Georges and Mitch.

Anniversary of the Korean War Commemoration Committee recently launched a web site to
support their effort to thank and honor veterans of the Korean War and their families, and

Installation bids farewell to Kosovo Refugees</a> </strong></big>FORT DIX, N.J. --

Forces Command commander, at an informal ceremony after the departure. &quot;You've done a
magnificent job. You gave the refugees hope, shared kindness and were the human dimension

Horizons</a></strong></big> SAN MIGUEL, El Salvador -- There are needle-shy soldiers,
people who pass out at the sight of a syringe. But no doctor or medic would relish
injecting a 500-pound patient with a vivid understanding of pain and no comprehension of
