the culture of New York State. Agriculture is a vital segment
of our economy and our communities. We want to make sure it remains
that way. That is why we're working so hard to give farmers in
New York a level playing field as they compete in the burgeoning
worldwide marketplace.</FONT></P>
<P><FONT SIZE="-1">In just five years we have:</FONT></P>

<LI><FONT SIZE="-1">cut farm property taxes up to 100 percent,</FONT>
<LI><FONT SIZE="-1">cut workers' compensation rates for farmers
more than 25 percent,</FONT>
<LI><FONT SIZE="-1">strengthened New York's agricultural district
laws,</FONT>
<LI><FONT SIZE="-1">significantly reduced energy costs,</FONT>
<LI><font size="-1">positioned NYS to be the next member of the
North East Interstate Dairy Compact,</font>
<LI><FONT SIZE="-1">preserved thousands of acres of farmland for
future generations,</FONT>
<LI><FONT SIZE="-1">introduced innovative marketing programs promoting
our homegrown products.</FONT>
</UL>
<P><FONT SIZE="-1">As we progress toward the new millennium,
you can be sure we will vigorously maintain our commitment to
agriculture and New York's farm families.</FONT></P>
<P><FONT SIZE="-1">New York farmers are leaders in supplying
the State, the nation and the world with safe, wholesome food.
Through our continued efforts we will ensure our children and
grandchildren also enjoy New York's wonderful agricultural bounty.<BR>
