| <p>McDermitt-Humboldt Internet Provider (M-HIP) <em>A non-profit company owned and | |
| operated by McDermitt High School students. We have two goals: </em> | |
| <ol> | |
| <li><em>To Provide meaningful entrepreneurial learning experiences for students.</em></li> | |
| <li><em>To Provide cost effective Internet services to residents of Humboldt County | |
| previously excluded from having access to the net.</em></li> | |
| </ol> | |
| <p>PROGRESS REPORT-3-10-99 | |
| <ul> | |
| <li>M-HIP is a legal company registered and licensed with the State of Nevada.</li> | |
| <li>We have created and formally adopted company by-laws and Constitution. These documents | |
| have been submitted tot he State of Nevada.</li> | |
| <li>All meetings of the Board of Directors are open to the public. Agendas will be | |
| appropriately posted for public information.</li> | |
| <li>M-HIP has 92 customers signed up and operating.</li> | |
| <li>Customers will not be billed for services prior to the 15th of every month.</li> | |
| <li>Service has been interrupted on two different occasions so far. Both incidents have been | |
| the result of technical equipment failure. Our primary equipment provider has been prompt | |
| to send replacement equipment so delays in service were held to a minimum. We apologize | |
| for any inconvenience.</li> | |
| <li>We have had problems acquiring installation software necessary to hook our customers up | |
| the NET. Countless complaints and phone calls on our part has not seemed to speed up the | |
| process.</li> | |
| <li>Other stuff.</li> | |

| <p>CUSTOMER SERVICE</p> | |
| <p>We sincerely hope to provide professional service to all our customers. The primary | |
| service we provide centers around the actual hookup of your hardware to the NET. </p> | |
| <p><u>Service we can provide includes:</u> | |
| <ul> | |
| <li>Sending software that will enable you to install the system.</li> | |
| <li>Talking you through the installation process.</li> | |
| <li>Giving advice concerning the hardware capacities necessary to achieve adequate internet | |
| service.</li> | |
| </ul> | |
| <p><u>Service we can not provide includes:</u> | |
| <ul> | |
| <li>Assisting with the installation of out-of-date or inadequate equipment. We are not | |
| equipped to make old, under-powered equipment perform like new.</li> | |
| <li>We will not offer service if the equipment does not have the following minimal | |
| specifications: </li> | |
| </ul> | |
| <p>1. 845 megabytes of 65k ram with CKL megs of hurt for anyone who can not understand | |
| this crap. </p> | |
| <p>2. Etc.</p> | |
