| a major force in the global economy. Rapid economic growth in this home | |
| to more than one-fifth of the world's population has placed it among the | |
| leading recipients of American, European and Japanese investment. China's | |
| export trade surplus with the United States rivals that of Japan. Trade | |
| relations with China have become a "front burner" issue not only | |
| in the United States, but in numerous other countries as these trade and | |
| investment relations have developed.</FONT></FONT></B> | |
| <P><B><FONT FACE="helvetica, arial"><FONT SIZE=-1>This conference brings | |
| together government and business leaders who are directly involved in trade | |
| relations with China as well as some of the world's leading international | |
| economists and international trade lawyers. These leading figures will | |
| examine the critical issues in China-U.S. trade relations, China's accession | |
| to the World Trade Organization, and China's role in the world trading | |
| system. Included in the program are representatives of some of the major | |
| U.S. corporations that already have a presence in China. The issues to | |
| be discussed are of the greatest importance to business executives doing | |
| or contemplating doing business in China or Asia, to international lawyers | |
| representing such businesses, and to students of international law and | |
| international relations.</FONT></FONT></B></P> | |
