I read pornographic magazines. I browse pornographic Web sites. I view pornographic movies. I used to watch foreign films, but then I realized pornos are far more entertaining than any high-brow British movie. The acting is often better as well. (Give me Jenna Jameson over Helena Bonham-Carter any day -- no double entendre intended.)

Sadly, few people are willing to admit they get a kick out of or a charge from viewing pornograpy. This attitude has led to a rather sad event in my life -- since I steal cable (shhh...), I am able to watch as much porno as my loins desire. Four months ago, the cable company started playing music over the dialogue. I imagine that's because little kiddies with a scrambled picture can still hear the sounds of women pretending to enjoy themselves. This presented a problem for me a few weeks ago. I wanted to watch "Jasmine St. Clair's World's Biggest Gangbang," but the majority of the picture was about the makings of the event, not the event itself. I could not hear Ron Jeremy interview Jasmine or the myriad of "prep" girls, goddammit. What has caused this disturbing return to morality in the United States? I've come up with a few reasons:<p> Some people claim porn is <strong>degrading</strong> to women. Well, yeah, isn&iacute;t that the whole point of the films and pictures? I have no desire to watch a couple engage in mutually beneficial sexual relations, in which each partner lovingly brings the other to climax. I want to see nipple clamps, hot lesbian sex involving unusual toys, and unnatural sexual positions. <p>
Other people claim porn turns women into <strong>sex objects</strong>.
Isn't that what most women are? They turn themselves into sex objects when they put conditions on their relationships. "Sure, honey, we can have sex, but...I want a diamond ring first." <p>
Still others claim porn encourages men to act out the fantasies they see on screen. <strong>Good.</strong> I am sick of watching my male friends turn into spineless wimps. Flip her on her stomach, smack that ass, and pull her hair. Women now expect men to be gentle, sensitive, and more concerned with her pleasure rather than their own. Pornos show the way sex <strong>should be</strong> -- rough, dirty, and devoid of "love." You would think with the number of men converting to the school of thought that says, "It isn't sex; it's making love," women would finally be sexually satisfied. Considering the glut of sex guides for women on the market and the number of women going on talk shows to complain about their sex lives, it is obvious women are <strong>not</strong> happy. Men should be encouraged to watch porn and see the way women <i>really</i> want it. <p>
Another school of thought says relatively innocuous "gentlemen's clubs" are naughty. They are immoral and vile, so they form protests and hold vigils outside of the clubs, often with their children in tow. You have to wonder if these women also demonstrate outside of male revues. No, they are too busy stuffing dollar bills into their g-strings. There is nothing inherently wrong with looking at attractive, naked bodies, be they male or female, nor is there anything wrong with watching those naked bodies gyrate to horrible club music. The protesters are upset that their spouses and significant others are gawking at women who have bodies they can only dream of attaining.
<p>
Another group of people try to close down adult bookstores and videostores or attempt to force them to move to isolated areas. This irks me the most. If I want to read a magazine devoted to adult videos, why should I have to drive out of my way to buy one? Why should I be made to feel like a freak because I get a kick of women describing how much they love giving blowjobs and getting banged up the butt? Why should I feel guilty because I want to rent "Men in Back" or "Sling Babes"? In my area, there is a controversy over a recent "health" law that was passed that forces adult stores to plug up the holes in the walls with something other than penises. If a guy is so pathetic that he cannot get any nookie at home and he must resort to fucking <strong><i>a hole in the wall</i></strong>, shouldn't we cut him some slack?
<p>
Thankfully, though, with today&iacute;s technology {e.g. the Internet}, I can view pornography from the comfort of my parent's home. (I'm 19 and in college; I can live at home if I want!) I don&iacute;t have to drive out to the boonies, nor do I have to worry about some crazed feminist accosting me outside of a store asking me if I realize I am bringing down the sisterhood. I can sit back, type in an address, and see pictures of golden showers, dirty Japanese girls in their school uniforms, and other strange fetishes. Of course, I have to remember to empty my cache, so my dad has no idea what I am looking at, but that is a small price to pay for this luxury.<p>
