| </B><P>New Jersey Reporter</I> magazine is published by the Center for Analysis of Public Issues, an independent, non-partisan public policy institute based in Princeton. As a journal of public policy, <I>New Jersey Reporter </I>seeks to provide top-notch investigative reporting, in-depth analysis, thoughtful commentary and alternative solutions to the critical public policy issues facing New Jersey. </P> | |
| <P>The magazine started as a newsletter in 1975, became <I>New Jersey Magazine </I>the following year, was renamed <I>New Jersey Reporter</I> in 1979, and has been published continuously ever since. This record led the <I>New York Times </I>to characterize the magazine's role as the "institutional memory" of New Jersey public policy.</P> | |
| <I><P>New Jersey Reporter</I> publishes 11 issues a year, with a combined August-September issue. </P> | |
| <P>Mark J. Magyar, a veteran Statehouse reporter and daily newspaper editor, serves as Editor of <I>New Jersey Reporter.</I> Magyar covered the Florio administration for the <I>Asbury Park Press</I>, Governor Kean's second term for <I>The Record of Hackensack</I>, and the end of the Byrne administration for the now-defunct <I>Daily Register</I> of Shrewsbury. He served in the Whitman administration as deputy chief of policy and planning, as director of "reinventing government" initiatives, and as a policy adviser on labor and personnel issues.</P> | |
| <P>Richard E. Hartten, a journalist for 34 years, serves as <I>New Jersey Reporter's </I>Managing Editor. An award-winning journalist, he was the longtime editor of the <I>Hunterdon Review.</P> | |
