| <strong>ASSOCIATION:</strong> The American Junior Golf Association (AJGA) is dedicated to<br> | |
| the development of young men and women through competitive junior golf. The<br> | |
| association is the largest organization of its kind with a membership of<br> | |
| more than 4,800 juniors from 50 states and 25 foreign countries. More than<br> | |
| 125 former AJGA juniors currently play on the PGA and LPGA TOURS and have<br> | |
| more than 200 Tour victories to their credit. AJGA alumni include Phil<br> | |
| Mickelson, Tiger Woods, Davis Love III, David Duval, Justin Leonard, Kelli<br> | |
| Kuehne, Michelle McGann, and Dottie Pepper. In 2000, the AJGA will conduct<br> | |
| 55 tournaments in 30 states and Canada.<br> | |
| <br> | |
| <strong>DESCRIPTION:</strong> The AJGA is looking for qualified applicants to serve as<br> | |
| tournament information assistants. The interns will travel extensively<br> | |
| throughout the United States during the three-month internship and will<br> | |
| help conduct aproximately 12 junior golf tournaments. Tournament<br> | |
| information assistants are responsible for performing all on-site<br> | |
| communications and media relations duties. Interns will prepare each<br> | |
| tournament's printed materials (i.e., tournament information, pairings,<br> | |
| post-tournament story and agate). Interns are also responsible for<br> | |
| tournament photography and distributing tournament results to local and<br> | |
| national media (E-mail/modem/fax) as well as updating tournament results on<br> | |
| the AJGA's Web site. A total of eight communications interns will be hired.<br> | |
| Interns will be assigned to four teams of six interns.<br> | |
| <br> | |
| <strong>REQUIREMENTS:</strong><br> | |

| <li>Basic golf knowledge</li> | |
| <li>Experience in sports information or media relations</li> | |
| <li>Excellent news writing and editing skills, with the ability to work<br> | |

| <li>Working knowledge of IBM computers and Microsoft Word, Microsoft Access</li> | |
