Rather it should encompass all players regardless of
their ability. The National Youth Golf Association (NYGA)
has developed a venue for junior golfers that provides an
opportunity for both the accomplished and the first time
player to compete on an equal playing field. By modifying
the USGA’s handicap index system for youth golfers,
participants are provided with an official NYGA tour
index. Their index allows them to compete with golfers in
the same age group, regardless of ability. The National
Youth Golf Association is able to accomplish this by
incorporating the USGA probability report, the course
slope/rating and the NYGA tournament handicapping system.
National Youth Golf Association members are able to
compete with other members within their age division and
have the opportunity to win every time they play.
