| to Conroys Gully from the Earnscleugh Flats. This is a land of harsh and dramatic | |
| contrasts. The north facing slopes of the vineyard are baked by extremes of heat in summer | |
| and frozen by frosts in winter. Black Ridge is a wild and rocky place with schist rock | |
| outcrops dominating the vineyard. Where grapes cannot be planted the rocks are left to the | |
| wild thyme and the rabbits.</p> | |

| in the river gravel under Dry Gully Vineyard and there's gold on top as well. Dry Gully | |
| won a gold medal with its first Pinot Noir. The small vineyard slopes slightly towards the | |
| river,and falls away sharply into the dredge tailings where it can be very cold and | |
| frosty. </p> | |
