<P>The purpose of the Multidisciplinary Team (MDT) is to formalize a commitment
to collaboration by bringing together community-based and government agencies,
health professionals, social workers, counselors, law enforment officials,
and family resource personnel as a means to enhance the efforts of the
community to prevent and treat child abuse and neglect. The team has the
potential to strengthen and mobilize the community service delivery system
as well as provide consultation, education and expertise on an individual
case basis. </P>
