admission process challenges each student to reflect on his
past, consider his future and measure his willingness to live
the Saint Thomas More School life. Admission to Saint Thomas
More School is based on both academic and personal measures.
In addition to examining the students previous academic record,
we consider the candid observations and insights of his parents,
teachers, and counselors. We welcome all evidence of a young
man's potential, including scores on standardized tests such
as the SSAT, PSAT, SLEP, TOEFL or other recognized systems of
measurement.</font></h3>
<h3><font face="Times New Roman, Times, serif">We require and
administer the Otis-Lennon Test of Academic Ability and the
Nelson Denny Vocabulary and Reading Comprehension Test to all
incoming 8th, 9th, 10th 11th and 12th grade students who have
not taken their SAT's prior to admission. Postgraduates are
required to present their scores from the SAT test.</font></h3>
<h3><font face="Times New Roman, Times, serif">The most important
part of our admission process is the personal interview. This
is the pivotal point where we begin to get to know our future
students. What are we looking for? We are looking for a young
man with college potential who will both benefit from and contribute
to the Saint Thomas More School experience by participating
in all aspects of campus life. Although the personal interview
is strongly recommended, it can be waived in cases where great
distance would make it virtually impossible for the student
to meet this requirement.</font></h3>
<h3><font face="Times New Roman, Times, serif"><br>

<font size="+2"><i><font size="+3">Admissions Timetable</font></i></font></font></h3>
<h3><font face="Times New Roman, Times, serif">Because our classes
are small, we must limit the number of students accepted into
each grade. Therefore, a student enhances his chance of acceptance
if he applies early. Our "rolling admissions" policy allows
for the acceptance of students at specified times during the
academic year, if there is space available in the class to which
the students want to be admitted.</font></h3>
<h3><font face="Times New Roman, Times, serif">We begin admitting
students for the following September in February. After the
personal interview is conducted and all recommendations, transcripts,
and testing have been completed, we review the student's application.
Students are notified of our decision within two weeks of receipt
of complete registration materials.</font></h3>

<font size="+3"><i>Financial Aid</i></font></font></h3>
<h3><font face="Times New Roman, Times, serif">Saint Thomas More
School has a limited number of work scholarship grants which
are awarded on the basis of need. The work amounts to 45 minutes
each day and does not interfere with the student's academic
or athletic program. All families seeking financial aid must
file annually the Parents' Financial Statement of the School
Scholarship Service. These forms are available from the Admissions
Office. Please complete all the information and follow the instructions
on the cover. In addition, send a copy of your current 1040
tax forms directly to the Admissions Office. If you require
a form for parents who are separated or divorced, please contact
the Admissions Office.</font></h3>
