Afternoon athletics is a long-standing tradition in boarding&nbsp; schools, and a requirement at Saint Thomas More School. Each&nbsp; student must participate in a program of physical fitness&nbsp;
and training during the athletic period. <P>We make a strong attempt to insure each student receives&nbsp; the opportunity to compete on our interscholastic teams. Some&nbsp;
opt for intramural activities or individual sports, such as&nbsp; weight-training and swimming. <BR><BR><P><IMG ID="Picture72" HEIGHT=348 WIDTH=217 SRC="./gifs/ajoudeng.89.gif" VSPACE=0 HSPACE=0 ALIGN="RIGHT" BORDER=0><font face="arial" size="3" color="red"><b>SUCKS TO BE YOU --></b></font><br>At&nbsp; all levels, emphasis is placed
on the development of good&nbsp; sportsmanship, competitiveness, self-discipline and confidence.&nbsp; Each student's athletic experience is designed to provide&nbsp; him with a chance to engage in satisfying
athletic challenges,&nbsp; as well as to provide a counterbalance to academic pressures. <P>Saint Thomas More School competes with other prestigious&nbsp; New England prep schools as a
member of the Southeastern New&nbsp; England Athletic Conference (SENE) division of the New England Prep School Athletic Conference (NEPSAC). <P>Physical education is taught by our dedicated coaching staff.&nbsp;
Each boy develops character and skills through personal motivation&nbsp; and instruction. We also emphasize the development of skills&nbsp; in activities which our young men
hopefully will enjoy throughout&nbsp; their adult lives. </FONT></B><P ALIGN=CENTER><DIV ALIGN="CENTER">
