conducted in the 40s' throughout the state.&nbsp; The Arkansas Fire Academy was formally
established in 1967.&nbsp; Its first director was Witt Murphy, for whom the training site
is named.&nbsp; Construction of the training site was completed in 1973 and is being
updated to meet the future of fire protection.</strong></font></p>
