I know some people may frown upon me posting this but I am doing it for all the real owners of the game. I know I hate it when I am hosting and when I click start it tells me to put in the CD. Well
here is the CD-Hack for the 2.04 version of Rogue Spear. If you are running a warez version of Rogue Spear please go buy the game. This crack will only work if you have not run the prior
CD Crack. Redstorm did a great job on this title and they deserve every penny. Get the <a href="files/rs/rsv204nocd.zip">CD Hack here</a>.

Before I became a R6 and RS junkie, I had tried my hands at Ripcord's SpecOps and enjoyed it. Because it lacked what R6 offered..it was abandoned by several multiplayer gamers. It was later updated by ripcord for multi play, but by then Red Storm had done too much damage. SpecOps2 looks quite promising, and even though Red Storm got the jump ( again) with Rogue Spear, it's worth giving SpecOps 2 a try. You can pick up the demo <a href="http://www.ripcordgames.com/download.html">here</a>.

I want to wish everyone a happy Halloween. Be sure to check your candy before you eat it, sometimes people put things in it like razor blades, needles, syringes, drugs, cyanide,
acid, metal shavings, and other funny stuff...can't blame people for having a sense of humor. I also want to make a statement to all you people giving out candy this year...buy the good
candy, kids do not want no-name candy that tastes like crap, also do not give out fruit...fruit flavored candy is okay. I personally give out peanut butter cups and stuff like that...
this is a precautionary step so my house is not covered in toilet paper. Another good idea as a hand out for Halloween is all the AOL CDs you have laying around. I know one year I had more
than twenty of the things in my house. Just put them in a bowl and pass them out, it will be worth it just to see the faces on the kids when you give them one. Happy Halloween!

Rogue Spear Patch is Out!
<!-- END DATE -->
</b> - </font><font face="arial" size="-1" color="white">
<!-- START POST -->
The Rogue Spear Patch was released today, here is what it updates...<br>
<ul>
<li>Found and eliminated some bandwidth hogs in multiplayer.
<li>Fixed the pink areas and bad text on Permedia 2 cards.
<li>Fixed the crash when playing back a replay that was recorded
with AutoRun turned on.
<li>Fixed a potential lockup if a player jumps off a ledge
while AIs are following.
<li>The "Invert" option on the joystick remapping screen should
work correctly now.
<li>Fixed auto-aim being turned on when the player attempts
to switch teams during the early stages of a death motion.
<li>Players who join while a game is ongoing no longer send
their armpatches immediately but rather wait for the next
game to start. This fixes the problem of players joining
during the action causing a lag for everyone.
<li>Added a new multiplayer only map called "Bunkers".
<li>Fixed the short freeze that occurred when selecting "Mission
Orders" from the briefing screen.
<li>Replaced "Ready To Continue" messages on multiplayer results
screens with ready indicator in player list.
<li>Server can force the game to continue past the results
screen after a multiplayer game instead of waiting for all
players to click continue by pressing the forward arrow
a second time.
<li>Disable the observer mode key when running a replay.
<li>Kick out terrorists in terrorist hunt / lone wolf farther
if they are in the same room as the insertion zone / base.
If they are in a different room, they can be anywhere. This
reduces the incidents of terrorists starting off right in
the team's face.
<li>Adjusted which weapon skill was used at what zooms. Full
submachinegun zoom now uses full assault skill, instead
of using a bit of sniper skill.
<li>AIs will now call "Clear!" once they have cleared a room.
<li>Changed the Steyr AUG to use the rifle reticule to stop
confusing players.
<li>Removed the intermediate zoom level on the G36K.
<li>Changed the "if you are zoomed, you can only walk" to
be "if you are zoomed more than an MP-5 can zoom, you can
only walk". This is 3X.
<li>Loosened some of the server-side gunshot validation checks
to lessen the penalties for high-ping players.
<li>Improvements to the camera code to eliminate some cases
of the camera being outside of the world after dying.
<li>Added support for Creative's EAX.DLL so more players can
get EAX effects.
<li>Improved the support for foreign keyboards in the remapping
screen by detecting keys that are in a different location
from a US keyboard.
<li>The forced time delay between trigger pulls is no longer
increased if you are wounded.
<li>Character scaling in the X and Z directions is now capped
between 0.1 and 1.0 to avoid a cheat that allowed players
to run faster than they should.
<li>The Rommel.CXP file now goes through the mod system properly
so it can be edited as part of a mod.
<li>Fixed some bad character models in the Train Yard Lone
Wolf and Terrorist Hunt missions.
<li>Changed default player selection on multiplayer results
screens to be local player instead of first player.
<li>Updated formatting and contents of multiplayer RSResults*.log
files.
<li>Added an option to RSConfig to force fullscreen and run
DXDiag. Added some system information.
<li>Reduced problems with flashing during loading sequences.
<li>Loading screens will continue to animate while waiting
for others to finish their loads instead of stopping the
animation and appearing to freeze the system.
<li>Multiplayer games will not start in cooperative multiplay
until all active and observer players have finished loading.
<li>Disconnecting users in a multiplayer game will no longer
alert terrorists with a death noise.
<li>Server locks the game temporarily during the countdown
sequence to prevent other users from joining and halting
the game start.
<li>Fixed a number of problems with text being truncated or
cut off improperly.
<li>Custom armpatches no longer show up on some terrorists
in multiplayer terrorist hunt missions.
<li>Fixed problem with some characters causing the truncation
of the rest of the string (most common with higher ascii,
accented characters).
<li>Ten lines of chat are now allowed.
<li>Chat will now wrap if it is longer than the width of the
screen.
<li>Eliminated "ghost" Rogue Spear task on taskbar when you
quit game.
<li>Fixed the body armor assigned to certain terrorists.
<li>Made some cosmetic adjustments to the rangefinder portion
of the binocular reticule. </ul><br>

new release adds a couple new textures, adds the M203 to your secondary list, corrects some text errors, fixes a bug with the reticules, and adds 0.50 HE
ammo for your Barretts, SR-50, and the AW-50. You can get the mod from the downloads page on my site, or direct link via

I snagged the following from Lloyd's site today<br>
<i>For those who are rightfully concerned about the virus, here is what we know:<br>
Only AVP will detect the virus (Backdoor.IMailer). Norton, Inoculan, InoculateIT, and McAfee will not.<br>
AVP does not list any info about this virus on their web site.<br>
Not all who have downloaded the mod have the virus.<br>
My files on my HDD are clean, according to AVP.<br>
My host, Xtreme Network, has scanned my files on their server (using AVP) and found nothing.<br>
I downloaded the files as if I were a player, using the link on my site, scanned the files and found nothing.
All this having been said, we either have a rare virus that nobody but AVP knows about (even though they don't have anything about it in their virus encyclopedia) and that affects some but not all who download it, or AVP is misreading something. <br>
-Lloyd </i><br>
I personally scanned the files on Norton Anti Virus 4.0 (updated this week) and found nothing. Lloyd took heat on this on several forums. The flamers didn't even review all the facts like there was only one source calling the virus and that Lloyd started investigating the problem immediately. Keep up the good work Bro your credibility stands at TAC!

Get ready for a new gaming experience this holiday season!!! Hot on the heels of the Sound Blaster X-Gamer card is the Smell Blaster Live!.
The card comes with a special release of Rogue Spear from Red Storm Entertainment. Now you can not only hear and see the action, but
you can smell it also. With the new technology and exclusive "In-Your-Face-Fan" that attaches
to the card you will enter a realm of realism never before experienced in a game. Imagine playing the 747 mission in Rogue Spear, as
you follow the fuel truck to the aircraft you get to smell the rich aroma of the exhaust from the truck. Included is the tear gas addon for Rogue Spear.
Throw some tear gas at your friends and they will actually smell it! Lets see how good they can aim when their eyes are tearing up, nose is running, and they
are vomiting all over the keyboard. Thats right, it does not get any more real than this! The Smell Blaster also comes with many new games like...Laughing Gas,
Proctology 101, Little Bobbie's Adventure at the Dump, and A Day at the Morgue...all with intense Smell Blaster compatability. Order the Smell Blaster now and beat the holiday crowds! <br>

The eagerly awaited mod AF v1.1 is now out. I saw this posted on <a href="http://www.planetroguespear.com/">Planet Rainbow Six</a>.
<i>"The long awaited AF RS Mod 1.1 is now ready for download. The mod includes one map mod which is a modified Sargasso Fade. It allows
the tower to be a starting point in multiplayer. The mod also includes 30 new weapons - ranging from the silenced Barett to the M203
grenade launcher. The mod comes with an easy to use installation program which will soon be modified along with other releases of
the mod. Also, we currently know of a minor bug; 2 or 3 of the weapons may not show their RSB picture - we are not sure why this is
but will be fixed asap. Please report any other bugs to us that you may encounter. We hope that you enjoy version 1.1 of our mod
and please send feedback!<br>

<a href="mailto:martin@rainbow-six.com">Martin</a>, and no it is not the real Martin Riggs. New textures are included. To install just unzip
and extract into C:\Program Files\Red Storm Entertainment\Rogue Spear. I am wondering when the Danny Glover
skin is coming. Not only is this a skin mod, but it can be considered a "Lethal Weapon" mod also. Anyways, get this great skin
<a href="files/rs/rs_martin.zip">here</a>. Be sure to check out some of Martin's other great work in our
<a href="downloads_rs.html">downloads</a> section for Rogue Spear.

some place in the design. Please be patient as I am ever vigilant trying to create a more enjoyable site for your tactical gaming news.
