Honestly, from the low elementary principles that are learned in high school, you can't say if you're going to enjoy being a chemist more than a doctor or more than a civil engineer or musician. Get into the hardest program you can, and then try it for a year and if you really can't stand it, then you can easily transfer to other programs.

Although you may not be able to say "I like this subject" or "I hate this subject" in high school as you say, you can have a natural affinity for some things. And I don't agree that you should try out for the hardest program you can and drop out if you can't handle it. Say you can handle it but you hate it. I know some people in that situation and they probably will end up either hating their jobs or going through retraining and taking jobs that are completely different from their program. <br> <br>And Kenny, doing something for money isn't all that great either. If you happen to hate it, then you wouldn't rise in the ranks and you won't get that much money anyways. If you happen to like it, then the opposite would occur even if you start off with a lower-paying job. <br> <br>All in all, I say you go for a program that you are interested in (or something can see yourself doing for the next 40-odd years) whether it really makes money or not. If you do well (achieve a certain level), you'll be either rich (or at least comfortable) and happy. If you hate it, you run the risk of not doing so well and unhappy, rich and unhappy... whatever it is, you'll be unhappy... <br> <br>On a side note: if you happen to like something that would make money... then you don't have a problem, I guess.
