<td width="509" bgcolor="#c4f3ff" height="76" valign="top"><font face="Arial" size="2">Let's see... <br>1) Image - if you think of a techie, chances are, you'd think "nerd" or "geek", etc... and most likely, MALE... thanks to the media <br> <br>2) Environment you're brought up in - typically, females are *not* exposed to as much tech stuff as males are thru their friends, etc. Therefore, they don't end up building enough interest to pursue this as a future career... <br> <br>3) Society - if most people try to conform to society, females will stay away from tech stuff <br> <br>I hope I don't sound too bitter, but Joker does have a point. I'm a female university student in a Computer Science program and I find the lack of other females in this program pitiful.
