But when a friend died in a car accident, I was devastated, even though I saw something like that happen on t.v. <br> <br>I agree that our moral standard is that violence is the norm on t.v. I've seen many deaths on t.v. But if you asked me even pull a trigger, I probably couldn't, even though I've shot thousands of innocent bystanders in video games. I couldn't even punch a person, even though I've knocked the lights out of a million virtual boxers. How does that work? I think that when a kid pulls a trigger, people just look for something to blame.

It means that 50 years ago, if there was a murder story in the newspaper, it would be like WHOA!!! But now since we're exposed to so much "murders" and violence on TV, movies, etc. the shock factor is gone.
