The two oldest surviving buildings in New Zealand, Kemp House and the Stone Store (built 1822) are both in Kerikeri.
Kerikeri's rich, fertile soil combined with the area's mild climate has produced an oasis for horticultural produce.
The area is also well known for its arts and crafts, numerous cafes and restaurants.">
