FBLA
Members go to fargo For state conference
By Kayla Austfjord
It was a busy week for North Dakota State FBLA members. Sunday afternoon,
April 2nd, fifty-seven members of the Cavalier crew boarded a big, yellow bus and headed
to Fargo. Their first stop was the hotel to unpack, then off to the conference to compete
for the next three days. It is an experience of fun, learning, & good sportsmanship.
When in Fargo, members take their tests during the day in hopes of placing in the top
numbers. Those who place first will then continue on to nationals which are in California
this summer. At night there are dances and shows that can be attended by all students at
the conference. This year there was a hypnotist that performed for the crowd. But there
are always some that just stay and relax in the hotel, with swimming, hanging out with new
and/or old friends, or just sleeping. During the day a person may attend seminars or
speakers to fill their time slots. The last day there, members attend the awards and
installation of the officers' ceremonies. Then it is back to Cavalier. Congratulations to
this years winners:

This week is a big week for the Cavalier High School. First of all, the big FBLA
state convention was in Fargo. They are down there for two whole school days starting on
Monday. They left on Sunday and didn't come back until Tuesday. That means that about half
the school was gone for a while. The parking lot is usually packed to the brim by the time
I get to school, but for these two days, I didn't have any trouble getting a spot close
up. Second, the band and chorus went to Neche on Wednesday for their annual regional music
contest. All the school from around the region go there for the day and show their stuff
against the best in the region. Cavalier has always done good there over the years and
probably always will.
