| in (Held) Kashmir". The following is another incident that occured | |
| on the 27th of April, 2000.</font></p> | |

| At 0004 hours of April 27, four soldiers of 30 Ashtray Rifles of the | |
| Indian Army came to the house of the victim. Three of them remained | |
| outside while the fourth on Lance Nail B.K.Bardan forced his entry into | |
| the house. He asked the victim to segregate the males and females in | |
| different rooms.The soldier then tried to assault the daughters of the | |
| victim. The family members raised alarm and the responding to their | |
| cries for help the villagers reached the spot. Sensing trouble the three | |
| soldiers waiting outside made easy their escape whereas the miscreant | |
| soldier was overpowered by the villagers. The police was summoned and | |
| the soldier arrested. An F.I.R under No 511 /336 R/C was registered. | |
| People of the area held protest demonstrations and proceeded to the | |
| Tehsil headquarter Handwara where they were lathicharged. </font></p> | |
