<b><h3><small>The layout and file structure of the City Website is based on software
programming principles.&nbsp; Coding was primarily performed manually using libraries and
utilities developed by Professional Informatics for the creation of the City Website.
&nbsp; Conversion to&nbsp; Microsoft FrontPage presents the coding in its current format
and structure. </small></h3>

<b><p>Much work has been done to present unique visuals.&nbsp; This work is not complete.
&nbsp; To ensure copyright compliance and to control graphic quality, graphic text
and&nbsp; links for each department for City and for public use is under development.
&nbsp; Permission for use must be sought through the City Website <a href="mailto:webmaster@city.lethbridge.ab.ca">webmaster</a>.&nbsp; The status of this
development will be presented here.&nbsp;Do not simply lift graphics from City pages.
&nbsp; The City is willing to provide you with appropriate graphics the size and type that
you require, for publishing or for the web.&nbsp; We reserve the right to control which
graphic you utilize.</p>

<p>The City of Lethbridge Website has a quickview&nbsp; and a detailed view.&nbsp; The
detailed view describes each of its nine web sections which are colour-coded for
identification purposes.&nbsp; Recognizing that the primary visitors will be City of
Lethbridge citizens who return for information, the quickview is the default
homepage.&nbsp; Also, recognizing that the new visitor will benefit from an overview of
what is in the City Website, the detailed view is easily accessible by clicking on the
quickview&nbsp; &quot;Welcome&quot; photo which greets the visitor at the entry point to
the City of Lethbridge Website.</p>
<p>To navigate: <ol>
<li>click on an appropriate websection logo provided on the left navigation bar of the
&nbsp; homepage </li>
<li>use the left or right arrow icon keys at the bottom and top of websection pages to go to
the previous or next pages</li>
<li>if you know the specific URL of a document, type it in yourself</li>
<li>use bookmarks to store the URL for later return </li>

When you are in a subsytem (that is in websections such as City Development or in
subsections such as the Bylaw 4100 area,&nbsp; return by clicking the rectangular icon
found at either the bottom or top of the information page. Subsystems have multiple pages.
Invoke the left or right arrow icon key to cycle through individual pages within each
section; click the center rectangular icon to return to the section main page. Once there,
return to the home page with one more click of the rectangular icon. </p>
<p>Any time you see the horizontal line divider displayed below, you can return directly
to the City Website homepage.</p>

top of each page, drops you to the bottom of the page; the top arrow button, at the bottom
of each page, <img SRC="gov/images/up.gif" BORDER="0" WIDTH="14" HEIGHT="10"> pushes you to the top of the page. </p>
<p>&quot;Contents&quot; is a section listing the various sections found on the current
page and are presented at the top left of each page. For most sections, return to the
&quot;Contents&quot; listing by clicking the section titles.&nbsp; </p>
<p>The system is developed for easy navigating. To quickly peruse the system: <ol>
<li>Use left or right arrows to cycle through previous and next pages at each of the system
levels. </li>
<li>Return to the previous level by clicking the rectangular icon. </li>
<li>Invoke Contents heading lists to go to each section heading.&nbsp; Hyperlinked section
titles will return you to the Contents section. </li>
<li>After a page is read, go to the page bottom and click the right arrow to proceed to the
next screen, or click the rectangular icon to go back to the current level's main page. </b></li>
<li><b>Read the text alternatives for graphics by holding your cursor over the graphic.
&nbsp; For the most part, this will give you navigational information.&nbsp; That is, the
displayed text will indicate where you will go when the graphic is clicked.</b></li>

<b><p>Each of the nine websections and the main homepage are presented in frames. &nbsp;
Break out of frames by clicking on the websection icon and a non-frame page will
appear.&nbsp; </p>

<p>This site was designed primarily for the Microsoft Internet Explorer 4.0 browser.
&nbsp; While it has also been tested for Microsoft Internet Explorer Version 3.x, and for
Netscape Navigator, you might encounter unexpected display problems.&nbsp; Please provide
the address link of any offending page to our webmaster. </p>
<p>This site is best displayed on monitors that support 256 colors. If pictures display
poorly, set your monitor display to 256 colors. </p>
<p>If fonts look strange, it may be the way your browser displays the code. If the pages
are all messed up, your browser probably can't display tables. Try to download and install
a newer version of your browser. Use of the newer versions will improve your experience
not only on this site, but many others as well. </p>
<p>Turn off some of your browser toolbars to maximize your screen display. For example,
show only text links instead of text and graphics. For newer browsers, you can drag and
hide toolbars. </b></td>
