First of all, I'd like to thank everybody who sent sweet "get well soon" mails when news leaked out about what had happened to my server. You gave me a reason to get back to work a.s.a.p, and strength, and made me feel better in the middle of my little panic session. Thankyou. <BR> Through a bizarre chain of events and miscommunication more suitable for a Monthy Python sketch than real life my server died last week. I should've known that I jinxed it when I named it Humpty.<BR> "Humpty Dumpty sat on the wall.." <br><br>...and all the kings horses...first the machine went down - in a <B>bad</b> way affecting other machines around it- and then the ISP in an attempt to fix it as fast as he could, deleted all the data on the server when he installed another flavour of Linux.<BR> What the ISP didn't know was that there was <B>no backup!!</b> Three months of work down the drain! <BR> Naturally, I panicked. And I wasn't alone, my <a href=redirect.php3?op=redir&sid=9&url=http%3A%2F%2Fwww.dutchweb.net>ISP</A> had to panic too and has been most helpful in getting the server up and running like I had it again. With no backup whatsoever this meant redoing the whole server from scratch, and thats quite a large amount of work.<p> Late nights and long hours, ..and all the kings men, worked on putting Adland back together again! Now Adland is back! And so is the <a href=redirect.php3?op=redir&sid=9&url=http%3A%2F%2Fcommercial-archive.com>commercial-archive.</a> and my other domains and pages are slowly being readded to their places on the web.. <BR> ...Except..(there is always a catch!) I can't recreate the users who had signed up here, and I know that there were quite a few. If you got an account before, I'm afraid you will have to do it again.<BR> I have learned my lesson, I am now getting backups. And the new server is not called Humpty!!</TD>
