M2 PRESSWIRE-28 January 2000-ALPHA PROCESSOR: API expands partner program to continue growth of Alpha Linux; new partners leverage API technology to bring complete Alpha Linux solutions to market (C)1994-2000 M2 COMMUNICATIONS LTD
Alpha Processor, Inc., (API) the leading developer of high-performance Linux solutions for the Internet, today announced that its strategic partner program is expanding to include five new members to the already-thriving group. These alliances continue to drive Alpha's leadership as the performance platform of choice for Linux developers and enable development of next-generation e-commerce, Web server and clustering solutions.
Now totalling more than 25 partners, API welcomes Dirig Software, Inc., Linuxcare, Inc., MandrakeSoft, Inc., PolyServe, Inc. and Stalker Software, Inc. to its program. Since its inception in August of 1999, API's Partner Program has been a key component in propelling robust Alpha Linux solutions into market.
OmniTI, Inc., an Internet Service Provider based in Maryland (USA), is using combined technology from API, Covalent, SuSE, PolyServe, Ovrimos and Dirig Software to provide a powerful high-availability Alpha Linux e-commerce solution to its customers, who require high bandwidth/high performance on their Web sites to keep their businesses running smoothly.
George Schlossnagle, Senior Systems Analyst at OmniTI, said of the solution being demonstrated at LinuxWorld, "After months of increasing demand on our servers, we anticipate a huge return on investment from the high-performance e- commerce solution developed by API and its partners. However, the real benefit will be felt by our customers who can now conduct searches and download Web pages at unparalleled speeds."
The API Partner Program enables members to conduct joint marketing activities with API, such as tradeshows, and provides availability of Alpha-based demo units for software porting and benchmarks. It also includes other high-profile marketing activities that allow API and its partners to offer and promote strategic business solutions.
"The API Partner Program has successfully lead to the development of innovative Alpha Linux solutions. We look forward to showcasing the new products available through our key partnerships and intensive Alpha Linux development efforts," said Miles Chesney, European Director for API. "The addition of these leading companies to the API Partner Program gives customers access to the highest performance, most reliable business solutions based on Alpha Linux."
