<P>Don Dunn, who coached defensive tackles at Ole Miss for four years, comes over with Auburn's new head coach Tommy Tuberville to be the Tigers defensive tackles coach.
<P>Dunn, a native of Louisville, Kentucky, played center at Lees-McRae Junior College in North Carolina from 1971-73 before moving on to play two years at East Tennessee State, where he finished his collegiate career and earned his B.S. degree in 1976. He would later earn his masters degree from Union College in Kentucky in 1980.
<P>Dunn's coaching career began in 1976 where he served as an assistant at David Crockett High School in Jonesboro, Tennessee. He would later take a similar job at Holston High School in Knoxville, Tennessee from 1977-79 before entering the collegiate ranks as an assistant at Lees-Mcrae Junior College in 1980. He would spend three years there before joining Johnny Majors and the Tennessee Volunteers as a graduate assistant in 1983.
<P>From there he would take the defensive line job at Montana State for four years (1985-89) where he also served as recruiting coordinator. Dunn then coached four seasons (1990-93) at the University of Pacific, serving the first two years as defensive line coach and the final two years as assistant head coach and co-defensive coordinator.
<P>In 1994 Dunn became the co-defensive coordinator and defensive tackles coach at the University of Nevada-Reno where he helped the Wolfpack to a 9-2 record
and a share of the Big West Conference Title. Reno ranked first in rushing defense and second in scoring defense under Dunn in 1994.The following year, Dunn would join Tommy Tuberville at Ole Miss as the Rebels defensive tackles coach and would spend the next four years there before joining the Auburn coaching staff in 1999.
<P>Dunn is married to the former Dona Howard of Chatanooga, Tennessee. They have one son, Jonathan.
