<P><font face="Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif">Matthew Mott enters
his first year as assistant coach at Auburn after serving as head coach
Karen Richter’s assistant at Central Florida for four years. Mott will
be main responsibilities include serving as the recruiting coordinator
and assisting Richter with all on-field coaching duties. </font>
<P><font face="Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif">During his tenure
at Central Florida, Mott assisted the Golden Knights to a 43-32-7 mark,
three Trans Atlantic Athletic Conference titles and a berth in the NCAA
Tournament last season. </font>
<P><font face="Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif">Prior to his stint
at UCF, Mott was head coach for four years at Hilbert College, a Division
III institution in Hamburg, N.Y. In his stay at Hilbert, Mott became
the school’s all-time winningest coach and set a school record for most
victories in a season. </font>

<P><font face="Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif">Mott is a 1999 graduate
of Central Florida with a bachelor’s degree in general studies with
a minor in criminal justice. He also earned an associate of science
degree in 1994 from Erie Community College in Buffalo, N.Y. After graduating
from Norwood Norfolk Central High School in Norwood, N.Y., in 1989,
Mott spent four years in the U.S. Coast Guard, stationed in Portsmouth,
Va., Petaluma, Calif., and Buffalo, N.Y. </font>
<P><font face="Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif">With 11 years of
coaching experience, Mott has developed a great deal of experience at
numerous levels of coaching. Mott, who holds a National “C” Coaching
License from the United States Soccer Federation, began his coaching
while in the Coast Guard, where he assisted its select team in Portsmouth,
Va. He was also an assistant coach at Churchland High School in Churchland,
Va., in 1990. </font>
<P><font face="Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif">Mott also has experience
working with Olympic Development Programs. In 1992, he coached an under-14
boy’s select Olympic Development Program team in Orchard Park, N.Y.,
and in 1998-99 worked with the girls ODP in Florida as a member of the
Florida Youth Soccer Association. </font>
<P><font face="Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif">As a player Mott
was a goalkeeper on the Norwood Norfolk Central High School team and
also on the Coast Guard select team for two years. </font>
<P><font face="Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif">Born in Norwood,
N.Y., Mott is 29 and was married to the former Jennifer Swartz in April
of 1997. Mott's wife Jennifer is currently employed by HealthSouth as
a physical therapist. </font>
