The Microsoft word macro virus that effects users of MS Word and Outlook
is spreading across the net like wildfire. There are now been destruction
mutations and copycat viruses appearing. In a rather ironic twist it looks
like the operating system that caused this mess may be able to help
uncover the culprit. Reasearchers have supposedly traced the MS GUID
(Global Unique Identifier) back to the virus creator

Using an online Russian newspaper, Gazette Ru, as its credible source
Wired online runs a report that claims that whitehouse.gov was cracked.
After the website was unreachable for about 12 hours on Sunday and Monday,
Wired ran this unconfirmed story. The story mentions that spokespeople
from whitehouse.gov claim it as a hardware failure. Unfortunately this
dribble was picked up by other sites as well. This story continues the
recent downhill trend in the quality of reporting at Wired Online.

some in excruciatingly fine detail, along with names, address and phone
numbers revealed to anyone on the net. The psychiatrist who is a
certified sex therapist and sexologist treated most of his patients over
the internet with little or no physical contact. Unfortunately the
journalist gives this impression in this article that this sort of thing
is extremely rare. Evidently they do not read HNN.
