A supposed SSH trojan is floating around the net called 'sshdwarez' This trojan claims to be an SSH exploit but in reality modifies your /etc/password file and then sends mail to a hotmail account. Another reason not to install unknown software, especial
ly as root. It would appear that the group known as b4b0 released the file as that is name of the user added to the etc/password file on effected systems.

A serious bug in Excel98 for Macintosh has been found. This bug allows users to save files anywhere on the hard drive regardless of whether security programs like At Ease or FoolProof are installed. This creates a major security hole for people using thes
e programs for security. It appears that Microsoft rewrote the MacOS open/save OS calls and botched the job in doing so.

The Hack-Net/HcV debacle doesn't want to die. HcV is saying the interview conducted by BHZ and linked to by HNN was faked and that UnH0ly is not a member of HcV. Hack-Net is still claiming that there is a hole in SSH and are pressing ahead with a crimin
al complaint. HNC representatives say that they have a meeting with the FBI on Thursday and say that they will have more information after the meeting.
