I have been sitting on this one for a day or two. Someone finnally sent
in a decent link. By April 1, 2000 the FDIC (Federal Deposit Insurance
Corporation) will require that all Banks have in place a "Know Your
Customer Program". The Program is designed to prevent fraud, money
laundering and other such bad things. It also requires banks to monitor
"normal and expected transactions" and notify authorities of "suspicious
activity" in any of its accounts. It requires banks to gather
information on where you get your money and what you spend it on.
