I have the same problem: When I try to enable the plugin on the plugin manager I get this error message: Also, I don't if it is related but while having bluetooth headphones set as Playback device (Bose 700), |
I don't have the newer MacOS version on my Mac machine at the moment I will update and then take a look at this. |
This line tells that the AU plugin fails not VST3, could you please confirm that VST3 version of the same plugin fails too? |
I'm pretty sure that AUSoundIsolation has no VST3 version at all |
Could not reproduce with versions 3.2.3 and 3.2.4 on an M1 Macbook Pro. |
hit this with a new macbook air M2 on audacity 3.2.5. ventura 13.2.1 |
I can reproduce this using the latest master branch build |
I can confirm that issue exists in Audacity version 3.2.5 on MacOS Ventura 13.2.1 |
Same problem Audacity 3.3.1 (a), Ventura 13.3.1 (a) on M2 Mac |
same problem , 3.3.2 arm64 dmg fresh install, on new M2 Ventura 13.3.1 (a) |
Confirmed detected as incompatible with Audacity 3.3.2 (arm64 version) on M1 Ventura running osx 13.4. |
Confirmed same problem on new download of Audacity 3.3.2 (64 bit Intel) on MacBook Pro (14-inch 2021, Apple M1 Pro chip) running on Ventura 13.0.1.

Same error message! MacBook Air M1 2020 MacOS 13.4 Audacity 3.3.3 Universal It has been nearly 6 months since this was reported, why hasn't this issue been addressed?!? Please reply with a fix ASAP or I will forced to return the product, because without the Audacity software the recorder has no value. |

This is one plugin out of many and there unfortunately are a lot of more pressing issues out there than fixing compatibility with this one plugin. In the meantime, you can use the procedure described here instead: https://support.audacityteam.org/music/isolating-or-removing-vocals-from-a-song - Or use one of the many AI vocal removal/isolation websites which have been popping up lately. |
Please, if possible, remove the alert when downloading and installing the player. It feels broken from the start and we are not aware how importar or critical this plugin really is. |

Just to update that I am getting this issue when installing version 3.3.3 on an M1 MacBook Pro running Ventura 13.5.2 - , though just to update the records if anything. It is absolutely disgusting to read demanding, threatening posts like the one above. Spoiled brats are everywhere it seems! Keep up the great free work that you put in so we can use this totally free piece of software devs! I'm sure there are 1001 other things that need doing, but in case anyone is wondering, this is still an issue. Oh and Draco064, you need to learn some manners. |

Just in case this aspect of the issue isn't clear, Re: LWinterberg: "This is one plugin out of many" In my case this happened on a brand new clean install on a vanilla machine immediately on install. So for me the bug wasn't that I tried to activate a plugin that didn't work, and I still need the functionality (I don't need the functionality) -- it is that the default Audacity install on a clean machine bundles this, then popped up a mysterious error on first launch about a "component" which I didn't know was about a plugin. Suggestion: Perhaps even if that plugin isn't a priority a simple fix for the new user experience might be to deactivate that plugin by default in the installer, or to deactivate it by default only just on the platforms reporting this issue? As it is, throwing this error on first launch may give the impression that the entire Audacity install itself is broken--which it isn't. Because the new Audacity user may not even know that AUSoundIsolation is a plugin, the message reads as if some (core?) component of the install has failed, leaving the impression that the new Audacity install is mysteriously broken on install and should perhaps be deleted. That might be easily avoidable? Best and thanks for Audacity. |
