APPN Data Handbook

Introduction

The [https://plantphenotyping.org.au](Australian Plant Phenomics Network) (APPN) is transitioning to become a FAIR digital research infrastructure with modern data engineering practices applied to all data collection and management activity. The goal is to ensure that all APPN images and measurements are fully described through rich structured metadata and that all data can be reliably interpreted both by human users and software applications.

This wiki brings together documentation on the following topics:

  1. Data principles
  2. Domain model
  3. Data classes
  4. Data and metadata standards
  5. Data collection and packaging pipelines
  6. Software ecosystem
  7. Data samples

Content is partial and evolving. These materials will be updated as standards are established, solutions are defined, and software is developed.
