Error communicating with Signal server

Installation of the app goes without any issues
On starting the app it show a message:
"Due to upstream changes in Signal, some features....."
follow by a warning
"Error communicating with Signal server. Axolotl enciuntered an error communicating with Signal servers. Please try again.
If you're seeing that error multiple times, check the status of Signal servers......"

The "check the Signal servers" seems to be a link but are not working. Signal does work on other apparatus so I guess servers are up and running
Have tried serveral reinstalls, upgrades an reboots but no changes.
Using Ubuntu Touch on a Volla Phone
OS: Ubuntu 16.04 (OTA-18), last update 13 August 2021
Axolotl Beta 1.0.1.1

I am also experiencing this problem grabbing the axolotl-bin package from the AUR and the build from Snap on Pinephone in Arch Linux.

I am experiencing the same issue since last night using Axolotl on a One Plus One running Ubuntu Touch. I cleared the cache using UT Tweak tool, uninstalled and reinstalled, then unregistered and tried to reregister, but I keep getting the message quoted by the user above. Please help. The app is currently unusable for me. Thanks!

I can receive, but not sending messages from Ubuntu Touch in Aquaris e4.5 OTA-18. Neither add contacts.

Hi there,

I got the same problem trying to launch Axolotl on a Volla under Ubuntu Touch.
Does anyone have an idea to make Axolotl work on a Volla under Ubuntu Touch ?
