rock64 SD silent boot fail with pre-release 0.10.x openmediavault #426
Comments
I think this might be the same problem as the issue I just created, #428 |
Based on @ReimuHakurei insight I took the bootloader he suggested https://github.com/ayufan-rock64/linux-u-boot/releases/tag/2017.09-rockchip-ayufan-1065-g95f6152134 and applied to an SD card that had OMV from https://github.com/ayufan-rock64/linux-build/releases/tag/0.10.12 (specifically https://github.com/ayufan-rock64/linux-build/releases/download/0.10.12/buster-openmediavault-rock64-0.10.12-1184-arm64.img.xz) Boots fine and from a quick experiment with:
0.10.12 Buster appears to work. I've not tried this in anything like production and not attempted any performance tests on CPU, network, USB3, read/write disk performance, thermal monitoring under load. |
Agreed! 👍 |
I was reading about the new https://www.armbian.com/newsflash/armbian-20-08-caple/ release and a couple of things caught my eye:
ayufan has been quiet for the last few months, I hope he is OK. I'm going to try and make time for an Armbian test this week. |
Rock64 1Gb board.
Pre-release from gitlab build fails to boot:
No boot message, black screen.
Works:
Not sure how to debug/trace this. The failing 0.10.x series have 3 partitions, the working 0.9.x images have 2 partitions. There is an extra (appears to be empty) boot-efi partition.
I think this is different to issue #361
