Rohith Ravi automatically detect whether or not to read from stdin. This allows the
equivalent of git diff | mate ==> git diff | mvimdiff without having
to do git diff | mvimdiff -

What happens when you just type "mvim" to open a new window from Terminal? As far as I can tell it still reads from stdin...?

nope. it just opens a blank window. The Vim binary needs to be explicitly told to read from stdin with the '-' arg. It's not that big of a deal to type that extra space and '-', but I was trying to preserve muscle memory :p

I'm not entirely convinced that this is a change that will be welcome by most users. If you are really interested in getting it merged, please post to the vim_mac Google Group and ask other people to back your request to merge. If the response is good I'll reconsider, but for now I'll hold off merging this.
