I am not a windows taskbar expert :) - would apreciate a fix/pull request ;)

My guess is because the shortcut to launch babun is to cmd.exe (which launches a batch file); if we could get the shell that MinTTY launches to set up the environment (instead of doing so in babun.bat), I think it would work out.

@dafrancis

I've got around this by doing the following:

  1. Right click on the icon in the taskbar, right click on terminal, and select properties
    step1
  2. In properties set the target to C:\Users\<user>\.babun\babun.bat (where <user> is your windows username)

  3. Set the icon to be the same as MinTTY.exe found in C:\Users\<user>\.babun\cygwin\bin\MinTTY.exe (you will need to click the dropdown and select Programs (*.exe) so you can see MinTTY.exe

  4. Click apply and you should now have a working taskbar item that runs babun!

@dafrancis thank you for your help. Exactly what I was looking for and worked like a charm!

@erikweibust

Thanks @dafrancis ! Worked perfectly!

@jktravis

@dafrancis Fantasitc! Thanks!

@bohrshaw

Yay, but how to maximize the window?
I tried to configure MinTTY's window size option which seems wasn't be preserved.

That was issue #86; it's been fixed by pull request #91.

@sveggiani

I've deleted my comment because I didn't understand @dafrancis instructions. I was trying to drag the desktop shortcut to the taskbar and despite I followed @dafrancis instructions I obtained an additional icon in the taskbar every time I ran babun.

The trick is to run it from the desktop icon, pin THAT window and later follow the instructions.
I've created an screencast of the complete process.

1.0.1 is easily pinnable - you can do it the normal windows way :) Enjoy!
