why fcitx5 installed by default?

I'm just curies about why fcitx5 is installed by default on omarchy.

is it a dependency for something inside omarchy or it can be removed ?
because for keyboards intended way is to use hyperland input.conf and edit stuff there

it just take up space in waybar and i didnt found any usecase for it

I'm new to linux desktop so if i asked something common sorry for that

Funny, I just asked the same question on reddit this morning.

My understanding is that it is used by XCompose. It is also auto started by Omarchy. I think it's probably better to leave it alone but I also feel like this is a useless icon in the waybar tray. I could not figure out how to keep fcitx5 while getting rid of the icon.

Thanks, I also researched a little bit it's also seems not installed completely because the fcitx5 normally comes with other stuff like fcitx5-qt and etc but here it's not included at all.

There should be a way to get rid of that.

Yeah, since Omarchy starts the process on boot, I don't know how you could proceed to remove it. If you modify the Omarchy autostart.conf file, it will just get overwritten in the next update. If you remove the fcitx5 package, then you get an annoying error message when you boot. 🤷🏻‍♂️

No obviously I don't try to get rid of it, I'm just trying to make it hidden on waybar, so it will be a silent background program
