First of all, I love Basscss! Good job!
Secondly, there are not enough font weights (in typography module).
Many font families actually contains 9 weights.
Example: Raleway | GOOGLE FONTS
This is pretty common.

Therefore, I suggest using one of the following methods:

OPTION A

.weight-100 { font-weight: 100 }
.weight-200 { font-weight: 200 }
.weight-300 { font-weight: 300 }
.weight-400 { font-weight: 400 }
.weight-500 { font-weight: 500 }
.weight-600 { font-weight: 600 }
.weight-700 { font-weight: 700 }
.weight-800 { font-weight: 800 }
.weight-900 { font-weight: 900 }

OPTION B

.thin { font-weight: 100 }
.extralight { font-weight: 200 }
.light { font-weight: 300 }
.regular { font-weight: normal }
.medium { font-weight: 500 }
.semibold { font-weight: 600 }
.bold { font-weight: bold }
.extrabold { font-weight: 800 }
.ultrabold { font-weight: 900 }

Sorry for the delay, I think you could handle specific font-weights by adding whatever you need on a per-project basis, or check out http://tachyons.io
